More Crawlers?

Is
it true that Berkley® 6" GULP!® Night-crawler
could improve the cleanliness of Lake Erie fishing boats?
Well that is the newest kick in crawler harness fishing
amongst pro fisherman and boat salesman Gary “Bo”
Bowman.
I headed out with Gary a few weeks ago to try a new technique
other than the trolling that I have been accustom to, crawler
harness fishing. I have avoided crawler harness fishing
because of the mess that it makes of the boat but, much
to my surprise Gary pulled out a new package of Berkley®
GULP!® 6" Night-crawlers from a bag and begun to
hook it up on the crawler harness that was intended to set
as a boat rod. He pointed out that when hooking this bait
to the crawler harness it is imperative that the worm be
as straight as possible. He pointed out that Berkley®
GULP!® is way more durable than night-crawlers and the
bait out-fishes live night-crawlers in most cases because
small fish are not able to steal it keeping a functional
lure in the water at all times. Bowman also pointed out
that Berkley® GULP!® looks like the real thing and
has a distinct smell that is sometimes more appealing to
Lake Erie Walleyes.
To make this trip more interesting we set six rods, three
using Berkley® GULP!® and the other three using
live night-crawlers. The results were mind boggling, the
Berkley® GULP!® out produced the night-crawlers
2 to 1 and we spent less time re rigging. In most cases
we were able to catch 3 or 4 fish on one Berkley® GULP!®
night-crawler and we would normally have to bait 3 or 4
live night-crawlers for one fish! Even better, the side
of the boat that used the Berkley® GULP!® was clean
as a whistle! |
